ABOUT
the story
Bloom Anyway is a project I hold close to the heart. It was born from a place of confusion and fear, but evolved into a world of comfort and peace. At 38 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and suddenly my world stopped. On medical leave and in and out of doctor appointments, I found myself lost. In an attempt to settle my soul, I began making one of my favorite things - earrings. Over time jewelry making has become a sort of therapy for me. The entire process from design to the final product creates a space of tranquility and fulfillment - something my life was desperately needing through my cancer journey. I realized that life may have taken a sharp turn from the expected, but I can bloom anyway.

the process
Each piece is handmade using a variety of metals, stones, and jewelry findings. Some pieces are hand sawed, others crafted with wire and soldered. Most of my pieces are one-offs, meaning they are ultra unique and one of a kind!

The Inspiration
Since I can remember I have had a love for statement earrings. In college I had dozens of pieces hooked to the earring holders in my closet. As a teacher I've always enjoyed colleagues and students commenting on what dangled from my ears. My earrings have always been a part of my appearance. In the very rare chance I leave the house without them, I feel off beat - not quite myself.
The inspiration for my designs stem from my love of art history, folklore, and nature. Combined with my appreciation for eye-catching statement earrings, Bloom Anyway was born.
